Some recent compositions I’ve worked on:

Tapdance in A Minor

The bass guitar is an instrument that seems to stay, for the most part, in the background of most music today. This piece flips this expected role of a frequently overlooked instrument. Inspired by the music of Victor Wooten and other amazing bassists, Tap Dance attempts to bring out the versatility and intensity of what is typically a background instrument. This piece was originally composed for solo bass without accompaniment, but was re-written with a tape part and a more interesting form.

Special Thanks to Ryan Beck for years of great teaching.

I wrote this piece as more of a challenge than anything. All of the sounds are recordings taken from a farm just outside Bozeman, Montana. Obviously, they’ve been extensively edited into a more musical form.
